The Two Mountain Ride for 2005

Mike's accounting...
16 folks at breakfast & a nice sunny morning! 14 bikes up Mt. Diablo to a
smiling, welcoming committee of Rangers! Driver's licenses were collected,
checked for validity, and warnings issued about excessive speed in OUR
STATE PARK!!! The young ranger at the summit was amused with us olde
hellions & produced the cuffs on queue for a Kodak moment!

HEY STEVE MARTINEZ, where's that picture?

We slithered back down the mountain at a more socially-responsible pace,
with a radar-detector escort & grumbling the whole way.

Marsh Creek Rd. was short & sweet, with Morgan Territory Rd. next. The
STUPID Ride Leader, for like the 2nd time in 3 years, drops his bike in a
low-speed, wet corner AGAIN! The 14 layers of clothing & those fabulous
clown pants (with the knee pads over his shins) saved his sorry butt
again! He picks up the bike, brushes a little of the dirt off, & continued
on. I think he needs a NEW FUCK-UP shirt & a spanking from Mistress Lisa!

The rest of the way to Livermore was brisk & uneventful. Mines Rd., the
Junction, & San Antonio Valley Rd. to Mt. Hamilton were a blur.

At the Observatory, and later at Alum Rock Rd., Kari enquired as to number
of curves on Mt. Hamilton Rd. & that the closest guess would win a
prize! Someone ELSE guessed within like ONE, but I didn't see what the
prize was.

Sierra, Felder, & Calaveras roads took us to Sunol & a farewell drink at
the bar. A good ride. Now, if we can just get this ride leader to keep it
UP on two wheels!
