I included all specs that seemed pertinent. I then computed the variation between the sets of numbers. (I hope the following table maintains it's form in the posting) The table shows that 12 of the minimum specs were tightened up, 4 remained the same and 2 increased. 8 of the maximum specs were reduced, 2 remained the same and 8 increased. It should be noted that the area in which BOTH min and max decreased involves the pistons, rings, valves etc. In other words, the 'top end' which generally HAD always been the area on a BT which required frequent attention. 70 - '74 91 - '92 spec variation min max min max min max Rocker endplay 0.0040 0.0250 0.00300 0.01300 -0.0010 -0.01200 ex valve stem 0.0040 0.0060 0.00150 0.00330 -0.0025 -0.00270 in valve stem 0.0020 0.0040 0.00080 0.00260 -0.0012 -0.00140 crank endplay 0.0010 0.0060 0.00100 0.00500 0.0000 -0.00100 comp ring side 0.0040 0.0050 0.00200 0.00450 -0.0020 -0.00050 cam bearing 0.0005 0.0030 0.00050 0.00250 0.0000 -0.00050 piston (style 1) 0.0010 0.0020 0.00055 0.00165 -0.0005 -0.00035 piston (style 2) 0.0010 0.0020 0.00075 0.00175 -0.0003 -0.00025 tappet in guide 0.0010 0.0020 0.00080 0.00200 -0.0002 0.00000 rocker bushing 0.0005 0.0020 0.00050 0.00200 0.0000 0.00000 pinion bearing 0.0004 0.0008 0.00020 0.00090 -0.0002 0.00010 Crankpin Bearings 0.0010 0.0015 0.00040 0.00170 -0.0006 0.00020 cam bushing 0.0010 0.0015 0.00075 0.00175 -0.0003 0.00025 oil pump shaft 0.0008 0.0012 0.00040 0.00250 -0.0004 0.00130 pinion bushing 0.0005 0.0012 0.00100 0.00250 0.0005 0.00130 oil ring side 0.0030 0.0050 0.00160 0.00760 -0.0014 0.00260 con rod wrist pin 0.0008 0.0012 0.00300 0.00700 0.0022 0.00580 breather endplay 0.0010 0.0050 0.00100 0.01100 0.0000 0.00600 Stroker Ray ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ '55 Custom Hardtail + I don't try to explain why I ride a Harley + '75 96cid FXE + For those who understand, no explanation is needed + '91 FLHTC-Ultra + For those who don't, no explanation is possible + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LIVE TO RIDE.....
