Rubber Chain Guard FUBAR- HELP!!

Hello list. I hope I’m not the only one left here with a running GPz1100.
So, while removing the swingarm, the rubber chain guard (p/n 55020-1529) that apparently protects the swing arm from abrasion by a loose chain, literally fell apart into 5 pieces, one of which must’ve flown off the bike a while ago. Of course, this part is NLA, so I’m looking for any and all advice on how to proceed protect the top (and bottom) of the SA after re-assembly w/o this piece. I was thinking about fashioning SA protectors out of thick neoprene strips top and bottom, but I’m wondering how to fasten them in place. I’m thinking that drilling the SA to accept small screws might compromise strength, but other wise the only thing I can think of is to epoxy them onto the SA, but I’m worried that if one comes loose it has the potential to jam the chain at one of the sprockets, thus causing a massive ejection of me from the vehicle.
Any and all suggestions and advice is appreciated.
