Accessories: Hallmark (Ventura) rack and bag, got rid of the ventura bag and now use an R-Jays bag, excellent bit of kit. Anderson bike stand and swing arm spools. Service Manual. Bagster tank cover & bag. Zero Gravity Double Bubble screen in light smoke. Clear indicator lens covers. Superdials dash insert on tacho only. Stainless steel oil filter.
Modifications: Akrapovic Exhaust c/- Titanium Can. Replaced brake pads with OE ones. New RK 530LFO chain and Renthal sprockets front & rear. Front and rear suspension set up for my weight and riding style by Glen Willing (brother of Warren - Suzuki/ktm GP teams) nice and firm again. The stock rear shock had no gas left in it when first serviced!!. Goodridge braided steel brake lines. Replaced front discks with min thickness 4.5mm ones @ 72K. Ohlins 46PRCLS rear shock with remote preload adjustment.
Problems: Replaced Fork Seals 25K & 95K Kl/m. Tyres disappearing very quickly. Lack of ground clearance at track when chasing R1's. See above no gas left in rear shock when pulled down and internals modified. Oil all over the road makes them fall over, crashed pretty well not too much damage.
Comments:
One of the most beautiful bikes to have ever come out of Mr K's factory. Makes the speed limits here in Oz look ridiculous. Kawasaki's titanium seems a little bit heavier than Mr Akrapovic's. I am considering buying a hugger to keep all the crap off the rear shock, but cant seem to find one I like. Suspension is much better now it has been professionally set up for my weight and riding style. I can feel a track day comming along. It was great, especially with the BT001R tyres (that didnt last very long) got down to equal my best times @ eastern creek within 2 sessions, it usually takes me 2-3 sessions to warm up. Just got the bike dyno'd for the first time - 105900 k's on the clock and it pumped out 131 hp on a dyno dynamics dyno. that would be slightly higher on a dynojet dyno. New M3 Metzlers are fantastic - minimal wear after 3500 k's and gip is sensational. Front tyre seems to have a different profile to the old m1's, they steer alot quicker.
For Sale: not likely

Accessories: Tourmaster Tail and saddlebags--perfectly with the 9R's luggage straps. Targa hugger--came color-matched perfectly BUT the paint was still uncured so I accidentally chipped it at the bolt-holes.
Modifications: Installed 18-tooth drive sprocket from '05 ZX10R and now getting ~55-mpg highway pretty easily without losing much snap. Removed sophomoric "Ninja" and "ZX9R" stickers for a more adult-looking bike; too many tickets with my Red Superhawk (level II traffic school 3 times, one ticket for 4mph over posted limit) Will probably leave the exhaust stock too. Zip-tied clutch cable lower because it was blocking view of tripmeter.
Problems: Had a false neutral once between 4th and 5th gears, but hasn't happened since. Had a horrible crash on 1/25/03 and woke up in the hospital. $3500 in repairs. Bike still runs and handles like a champ, just cooled my afterburners a little.
Comments:
Valve adjustments a PITA, but the valve-seat-wear appears to be settling down and no adjustment was necessary at 3rd valve-clearance inspection. Getting great mileage (40mpg in traffic and 50 on open-road) and the cylinder compression checked out great too. Was thinking about getting an old-man's bike (BMW) after my accident, but this ol' nine was comfortable enough to ride from Tijuana to Canada and back in '03 (http://www.chrisandlisachan.com/victoria_'03.htm), and this year rode from San Diego to Philadelphia and back: http://www.calamarichris.com/philly04.htm

Accessories: Bought it with new paint job and custom stickers from Infinite Graphics. Bike is Black with Green Metal Flake in the clear coat. The stickers make the bike look really good, also has Infinite graphics on rims. Every letter has a sexy lady posing next to them, looks real nice on the black power coated rims. Also has second look seat covers front and rear and a smoke tinted windsheild.
Modifications: Full Muzzy Titanium Exhaust System. Rear fender has been shaved and turn signals integrated into rear brake lights. I rejetted the carbs myself (no kit) & the bike runs real strong!
Problems: Had a flooding issue when I purchased it. Bike flooded after shutting off. Tried everything, float valves, float heights, and even replacing the carbs. The bike was a California model and previous owner had removed the canister and plugged off all that neeeded to be, but still had the flooding problem. Finally after everything, I found out how to correctly remove the vacuum valve and vacuum switch from a very nice person who had given me the information. This info was hard to find (illegal in California), but after removing the Vacuum valve, No More Flooding Problem! Yeah! I was getting real sick of changing the oil after every 2-3 times of riding. Bike seems like it will be OK though. You can read all about it here on page #2 of this forum; http://www.bikersoracle.com/zx9/forum/showthread.php?t=4983&highlight=flooding
Comments:
Very quick smooth ride. Fastest bike I've ever rode.
For Sale: Not yet, my plans are keeping it, at least for a few years anyway. Or forever, who knows? This bike is awsome all the way, I wouldn't want anything different.

Experience: Now 17 years on road, Still 1 week on dirt, Still 1 day on track
Bikes Owned: 14
Accessories: Dec2000: M&P rear carbon look hugger. Oct2002: Tank bag. April2003: Little colour video camera.
Modifications: 11-04-03: Small video camera knocked up and attached to one of the fairing lower fixing screws (with mini vcr in tank bag). Tested during lunch hour at work - waiting for a good (free) weekend to have a play! 15-10-04: It's been a while! Had lots of fun with the video camera (on the bike ;-) ). Finally got the suspension right for all the two up riding I do. Have now managed to ground out on the pegs! That'll be the limit then! Aug2005: Still the same except changed brake fluid and cleaned front caliper pistons etc. BIG difference noticed!! I can stop now!
Problems: Moody, snatchy throttle repsonse as you get off the brakes and start to get on the gas going into/through a corner - is there a cure to this? 11-04-03: Still after a cure! 15-10-04: Got used to it - Riding around it now.
Comments:
I keep fiddling with the suspension but ended up back on standard except a bit more front preload and rebound damping. Can't find any other settings that suit 'me one day and me and the wife the next'!! Can anyone tell me how much effect raising the rear ride height has? 11-04-03: Thanks to those that sent suspension suggestions - I think I'll stop fiddling now! Aug 2005: Not the best summer so far but still getting out. By far the best bike I've had for solo, two up, scratching, touring (tiny bit) and generally having fun!
For Sale: I don't think so!
